Suivi journalier et saisonnier de l’activité de chant chez des rouges-gorges (Erithacus rubecula) territoriaux mâles et femelles. 

Projet:

 Chez un grand nombre d’oiseaux chanteurs (Oscines), les chants sont appris et émis pendant la saison de reproduction par les mâles, afin d’attirer les femelles et repousser les mâles rivaux. L’apprentissage et le rythme de production de ces vocalisations sont sous le contrôle de processus hormonaux et centraux sexuellement dimorphiques. Toutefois, chez de nombreuses espèces tropicales, les femelles chantent également et certaines espèces chantent et défendent un territoire toute l’année. Le rouge-gorge (Erithacus rubecula) est un rare exemple d’espèce de région tempérée présentant ces spécificités :mâles et femelles chantent et défendent leurs territoires toute l’année. Afin de caractériser l’activité du chant journalier et saisonnier et ainsi pouvoir le comparer entre les sexes,des enregistreurs automatiques (Song Meter 3, Wildlife Acoustics) ont été préalablement placés au sein des territoires de rouges-gorges entre Octobre et Mai 2018-2020.Ces expériences font partie d’un projet de thèse, et la/le stagiaire travaillera conjointement avec la doctorante.

La prise de données se fera par l’analyse de spectrogrammes d’enregistrements de longue durée afin de: 

1) identifier les chants de rouge-gorge;

 2) compter le nombre de chants au cours d’une journée et au cours de l’année (1jour/mois/individu);

 3) mesurer la durée des chants;

La/le stagiaire participera également aux sessions de captures & baguages de rouges-gorges et au suivi des individus présents sur leur territoire.

Compétences que la/le stagiaire acquerra : 

-Travail de terrain(identification aux jumelles des rouges-gorges bagués et de leur territoire)

-Initiation à l’ornithologie (Identification auditives de différentes espèces d’oiseaux) 

-Initiation au travail d’analyse acoustique avec le logiciel Avisoft-SASLab Pro 

-Participation aux captures et baguages 

 

Durée: 2 mois.

Période à définir avec le candidat entre Octobre et Mi-décembre2020.

 

Profil recherché:

-Etudiant de niveau BAC+2 à BAC+5 en biologie/écologie/éthologie -Patience et autonomie nécessaires pour le travail de terrain-Rigueur attendue dans les observations et la prise de données-Une expérience ou un intérêt préalable pour les oiseaux est souhaitable

Lieu: Le stage aura lieu au sein de l’Institut des Neurosciences Paris-Saclay (Neuro-PSI,UMR 9197), situé à l’Université Paris-Sud, Orsay. Le terrain se déroule sur le campus de la Faculté des Sciences.

Offre de stage M2 Bien-être animal et agrivoltaïsme

Titre du stage : Impact d’une centrale photovoltaïque sur le bien-être des bovins
Présentation de l’organisme
Le bureau d’études AKONGO travaille en partenariat avec des structures privées et publiques dans le
domaine du comportement et du bien-être animal. Notre équipe accompagne les établissements qui
ont  à  cœur  d’améliorer  sans  cesse  les  conditions  d’hébergement  et  d’élevage  des  animaux,  mais
également de valoriser et développer les compétences des équipes impliquées  quotidiennement dans
le maintien et la gestion des animaux.
Contexte du stage
L’agrivoltaïsme  associe  l’utilisation  agricole  des  terres  à  la  production  d’énergie  électrique  par
photovoltaïque. Ce modèle de synergie entre une activité agricole et une activité de production solaire
apporte des solutions concrètes aux conflits d’usage du foncier. Aujourd’hui, des centrales solaires
sont installées sur des pâtures utilisées par des animaux d’élevage.
Le  stage  s’inscrit  dans  le  cadre  d’une  étude  d’impact  environnemental  et  d’évaluation  du  rapport
bénéfice/risque de l’agrivoltaïsme appliqué à l’élevage bovin.
Objectif du stage
-  Effectuer  des  mesures  comportementales  et  environnementales  afin  de  déterminer  l’effet  de
l’environnement sur plusieurs groupes de bovins.
Missions du stagiaire
- Revue bibliographique
- Relevé de données comportementales sur le terrain (observations directes et indirectes, via GPS et
accéléromètres)
- Analyses des résultats (descriptives et statistiques)
- Rédaction d’un rapport scientifique
Durée du stage : 5-6 mois (mi-janvier / mi-juin 2021 idéalement)

Profil et compétences attendues :
En cours de formation Master en éthologie ou Bac+5 agro/agri, vous avez une expérience en
éthologie et une sensibilité au bien-être animal. En sus de votre aptitude à travailler en autonomie et
en équipe, vous disposez de bonnes compétences relationnelles, d’un esprit critique, de capacités
d’observation, d’analyse, de synthèse et de rédaction. Une connaissance des nouvelles technologies
appliquées à l’agriculture, ainsi qu’une première expérience en élevage bovin seraient un plus.

The project aims to: 

1) Characterize the structural and sequential behavioural features of positive interactions, 

2) Identify the specific roles of neurotransmitter systems, and 

3) Elucidate the effects of repeated positive interactions on the brain and the immune system. 

This PhD position forms part of a national science fund (‘FWF’) project on the topic of positive human-animal interactions, their determinants and benefits for animal well-being, using farm pigs as a model and state-of-the-art methods.  

The candidate should be motivated, independent and reliable. The candidate will be involved in conducting behavioural tests, behavioural analysis, learning physiology and neuroscience techniques, and writing publications, under the supervision of a PostDoc managing the overall project. We will use a multi-disciplinary series of experiments combining behaviour, neuroendocrinology, neuroimaging, psychoneuroimmunology, and proteomics. The candidate is not expected to have prior knowledge in all techniques used within the project, but should exhibit an enthusiasm to learn them. Support from colleagues will help the candidate to learn or develop those skills. Nevertheless, a strong knowledge in animal behaviour is a must. Although we make every attempt to avoid them, some experiments will require moderately invasive procedures (e.g. experiments on physiology aspects will involve catheters), which will be placed by a veterinarian under anesthesia. The proposed starting date is November 2020 but a different starting date is negotiable. The work will be conducted in English, and will require travel for experiments at the research farm. Current restrictions due to covid should not inhibit you to apply. Titre du stage : Caractérisation des interactions entre dauphins et enfants aux troubles du développement

Résumé du stage :

La médiation animale se décline sous différentes pratiques, et l’une d’entre-elles concerne les activités avec les dauphins. Le Dolphin reef à Eilat (Israël) propose depuis plus de 20 ans des activités de rencontres et de thérapie, encadrés par une psychologue, avec les dauphins, ceux-ci vivant en totale liberté. Toute une base de données vidéos a été créée à cette occasion avec un suivi longitudinal des enfants sur plusieurs mois.

L’objectif du stage est de décrire finement, sur la base de ces vidéos, les interactions dauphins/ soigneurs/enfants aux troubles du développement, et leur évolution dans le temps.

Gratification : oui, à hauteur de la somme obligatoire pour les stages en France

Durée : 5 mois (début janvier-début juin 2021 idéalement)

Demandes particulières : le stage étant basé à la station biologique de Paimpont, un véhicule personnel est recommandé. Des déplacements sur Rennes ou Caen seront peut-être à prévoir. Un séjour à Eilat d’au moins une semaine pourra être envisagé en 2021 (en fonction de la situation sanitaire mondiale).

Profil et compétences : En cours de formation Master en éthologie ou psychologie avec des options en éthologie, l’étudiant.e recruté.e devra être motivé.e, rigoureux.se et avoir une bonne capacité d’organisation et de travail en autonomie comme en équipe. Une bonne maitrise de l’anglais et des statistiques est nécessaire. Ce stage mobilisera également un esprit critique ainsi que des capacités d’observation, analyse, de synthèse et de rédaction.
