Participate to a COVID survey
It
is been designed by early career folks from my group (PhD student
Sarah, technician Emily and postdoc Océane covering Anna's maternity
leave,
for those of you knowing them). This is because as
we were struggling and
discussing Covid stuff, we soon saw big similarities with the 'anti-CV'
situation, i.e. that when we feel overwhelmed / discouraged etc by a
situation, we first think this is because there is something wrong with
us, rather than thinking err perhaps there is something wrong with the
situation (?!) So,
anti-CV-like problem, [hopefully] anti-CV-like solution: realizing that
many others feel the same (and at various career levels) could help early career folks with realizing that it is normal to sometimes feel overwhelmed
/ discouraged etc during challenging times, and to bounce back more easily. Should
people survive one survey more, and Sarah, Emily and Océane get data,
they will quickly feed back the results to the UK Animal Welfare
Research Network which are relevant for our currently under development
mentoring scheme; I will present their results on
their behalf at the ISAE supporting Early Career Researcher workshop in
August; and we will also be happy to share them with any participant
interested in but being neither AWRN/ISAE ECR member (it is anonymous
but just need to send an email 'I want the results',
all explained in the survey)...
Last but not least,
the survey is NOT discipline specific and all career
levels (from Master to Emeritus) from all over the world are welcomed to reply, so please feel free to forward to any of your colleagues / friends / academic
family members in any discipline (tell them I sound fairly hysterical and desperate to justify you spamming with survey, that's okay \uD83D\uDE09).
