‘Frontiers in Behavioural Biology’, Sept. 24/25th 2010, Kleiner
Festsaal,
University of Vienna(Dr. Karl-Lueger Ring 1, 1010 Vienna, Austria).
AIM AND SCOPE: Over the past decades, behavioural biology has developed
rapidly and towards a stronger integration with other disciplines, such as
physiology or psychology. This development is reflected by the work done
at the Konrad Lorenz Forschungsstelle (KLF) since the passing of Konrad
Lorenz, 20 years ago. In reflection of this period we will organize a
special symposium in a rather unusual format. A number of top young
KLF-associates were asked to invite one senior researcher of their choice
from their respective field (Profs. Jan Komdeur, Jerram L. Brown, Bernd
Heinrich, Ton Groothuis, Wolfgang Goymann). Their overview talks will be
followed by the contributions of two KLF-associated researchers who will
present examples of results from one of the five specific KLF research
topics. Finally, five emerging “junior” scientists (Drs. Markus Öst,
Bernhard Völkl, Amanda Seed, Aline Bertin, Molly Dickens), working in the
fields in question, will present data from their area of expertise.
Everybody, who registers (see below) for the symposium is invited to
present a poster of her/his research. And don’t forget: Vienna is a
wonderful city to visit in the fall.
REGISTRATION AND FEES:
We charge a fee of Euro 20.00 per person.
