Humane Farm
Animal Care (HFAC) is seeking a full time Certification Program Manager to help
lead HFAC at a time of great programmatic success and growth. We are a non-profit standard setting, certification
and labeling program for the humane treatment of farm animals in food
production.
The
Certification Program Manager (CPM) position requires knowledge of standards
(animal welfare, and or organic, food safety standards and practices. The CPM position requires auditor management,
program development and oversight, the ability to work in a fast-paced office
environment with demanding job responsibilities. Depending on qualifications, skills, and
experience, this position may have an opportunity to oversee new programs,
quality systems or other areas critical to the success of the Certified Humane®
program. The Certification Program
Manager will be coordinating all aspects of the certification program from
receipt of application through sending certificate of certification.
The Humane Farm Animal Care (HFAC) offices are
located in Herndon, Virginia, 10 minutes from Dulles International Airport, a
suburb of Washington, D.C.
Job Summary:
Minimum of two
years of manager level experience in certification program management.
Highly
self-motivated, with the ability to work independently while managing one’s own
hours.
Ability to receive and provide constructive feedback and make changes
to align with and contribute to HFAC’S values and culture.
Strong
organizational skills and ability to multi-task and work with many other staff,
interns and volunteers. Preparing the annual budget for this
department/managing the expenditures within that department.
Participation in
Routine Communication with the Executive Director in organization-wide
management, planning, coordination, problem solving, engagement and management.

law. Compensation This is a full-time (40 hours/week average),. Salary is
$45,000 per year. HFAC offers Three weeks of paid vacation, eight paid days of
flexible holidays, and a Cafeteria Plan, but does not offer paid health
insurance, it offers a $300/month reimbursement toward whatever health
insurance you currently have.
