PhD and postdoc position on social networks
We currently have two fully funded positions available (one PhD and one postdoc) on a project concerning social networks.
The positions are open to
candidates with a background in animal behaviour / behavioural ecology,
as well as other backgrounds such as physics, computer science, math,
and social data science.
I would be grateful if you would
share this with anyone you think may be interested (or could know
someone who are). Many thanks!
About the positions
The positions are part of the
project 'New computational approaches for understanding the emergence of
social network structures’, which is lead by Josefine Bohr Brask and
also involves collaborators Lauren Brent (University
of Exeter) and Sune Lehmann (Technical University of Denmark).
The project has two main parts:
one focusing on understanding the emergence of social network structures
(including how social preferences affect network properties), and one
concerning development of new network analysis
methods. Approaches we will use include empirical network analysis and
network modelling. We will have access to a detailed dataset on social
behaviour from a population of rhesus macaques, and it will be possible
to visit the field site. We may also use a
range of other data.
The participation of the PhD and
postdoc in the different parts will depend on their interests and
backgrounds, and there will be opportunity for them to influence the
project.
The deadline for applying is 23:59 CETS on 6th October 2024.
