Tsaobis Baboon Project 2013 --
The Tsaobis Baboon Project is run by
the Institute of Zoology, Zoological Society of London. It has been studying
the behavioural
and population ecology of chacma baboons
in central Namibia
since 2000. Fieldwork in 2013 will investigate two
specific areas:
· Behavioural plasticity and the
fitness effects of social information use
· Sexual conflicts over reproduction
in social groups
Field Assistant positions available
in 2013
A maximum of six positions are
available. Two of these will run the full six-month field season (approx. May -
October), while the remaining posts will be divided evenly between the first
and last three-month periods. Each Field Assistant will contribute to one of the
two research themes, and so applicants should either express a preference, or
state “no preference”.
