The Center for Fetal Neonatal Neuroimaging and Developmental Science is seeking a full-time postdoctoral fellow to conduct MRI acquisition and analysis for a new comparative research study of non-human primates and humans. We are investigating developing anatomic brain pathways in newborn and mature post-mortem brains of macaques, orangutans, chimpanzees, and humans, which is under collaboration between the Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School and the George Washington University.

Qualifications/Experience:
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in neuroscience, neuroanatomy, biological anthropology, biomedical engineering, or equivalent. The ideal candidate must be mature, responsible, and creative with excellent organizational skills. Strong oral and written communication skills are also needed. The postdoctoral fellow will conduct MRI scans that include structural and diffusion images; oversee data pre-processing and analysis; and help develop and test specific hypotheses concerning developmental differences across species. Research will be performed at the Boston Children’s Hospital. Strong preference will be given to applicants who have substantial previous experience in MRI acquisition and analysis. Some knowledge of Matlab and Unix is desirable.
