Position Description:
1) A fully funded 4-year PhD studentship is available to carry out a project investigating spider monkey distribution in human-modified habitats under the supervision of Dr. Denise Spaan and Dr. Filippo Aureli.
2) A fully funded 4-year PhD studentship is available to carry out a project investigating social influences on spider monkey vocal communication under the supervision of Dr. Margarita Briseño Jaramillo and Dr. Filippo Aureli.

Qualifications/Experience:
Potential applicants should have a Masters degree in a relevant field and have some knowledge of Spanish. The PhD thesis can be written in English, but knowledge of Spanish is important to navigate the bureaucracy. Specific qualifications will be asked after potential applicants send an email expressing interest to Dr. Denise Spaan (dspaan@uv.mx), Dr. Margarita Briseño Jaramillo (mbriseno@uv.mx) or Dr. Filippo Aureli (faureli@uv.mx).
The application deadline is August 2020 to start the PhD in January 2021 but interested applicants should contact us as soon as possible as applicants need to submit a research protocol developed with the potential supervisors during the application process.
