2 Ph.D. positions in Behavioural Ecology
Driving individual and collective preference in invasive ants
• Research how invasive ants learn and make decisions
• Use neuroactive chemicals to drive behaviour
• Design automated systems for multiple parallel collective behaviour experiments
• Be funded for 3.5 years (§ 2 Abs. 1 WissZeitVG, TV-L E14, 65%)
• Live in a UNESCO world heritage site
The
Animal Comparative Economics lab, based at the University of Regensburg
, is searching for two PhD students to launch our ERC-funded project
COGNITIVE CONTROL. We will be using manipulations inspired by
behavioural economics and consumer psychology to attempt to steer ant
preference at the individual and group level. AnMSc or equivalent in
biology, comparative psychology, or a related subject is required.
