Ateles-Choco Reserve is located in the Manabi province in northwestern Ecuador, its aims is to promote the conservation of the last forest fragments in this province and its biodiversity through different lines of action. There, the Primate Conservation and Research Program focuses on studying wild primate populations of Brown-headed Spider Monkeys (Ateles fusciceps fusciceps) and Mantled Howler Monkeys (Alouatta palliata aequatorialis) in the fragmented landscape. To continue with the research and conservation processes, we are currently looking for a research coordinator:
RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS FOR THE RESEARCH COORDINATOR
Immediate availability is required.
Experience in FIELDWORK and with PRIMATES.
Experience in data analysis and scientific publications (links)
Adherence to the organization's guidelines.
Collection of ecological and behavioral data on primate populations in the study area, particularly Brown-headed Spider Monkeys.
Ability to work with interdisciplinary teams.
Support for environmental education and restoration activities.
Timely delivery of processed data, reports, and/or products.
Training and coordination of volunteers associated with the program.
Language: Intermediate level of English (for foreigners, a high level of Spanish is required).
NOTES: This position requires a HIGH LEVEL OF PHYSICAL EFFORT, the ability to withstand high temperatures and insects, and the capacity to navigate very mountainous terrain.
SALARY: 800 usd/month including VAT
