Hiring Organization:
Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology
Position Description:
We are seeking two volunteer field assistants to support, help and manage field monitoring teams with data collection for a bonobo (Pan paniscus) and large mammal survey in the ‘Reserve Naturelle de Bonobo de Kokolopori’ in northern central Democratic Republic of Congo. This Reserve covers an area of 4,785 km2 and previous surveys have estimated the total bonobo population at about 1,000 individuals. The purpose of this study is to provide precise and accurate data on bonobo abundance, distribution, along with distribution and density of their associate threats.
