RESEARCH ASSOCIATE/RESEARCH ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (REF: 3261) (PERSON PERCEPTION)
ARC CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE IN COGNITION AND ITS DISORDERS SCHOOL OF PSYCHOLOGY
- 2 year appointment with further employment subject to funding
- Salary range: Level A $53,542 - $72,537 p.a. - minimum starting salary for appointee with PhD will be $70,058 p.a.
- Salary range: Level B $76,356 - $90,674 p.a.
- Plus 17% superannuation

A position is available for an outstanding early career researcher to investigate mechanisms (perception, cognitive, evolutionary, neural) of person perception. A major focus will be on how person perception skills emerge during typical development and in children with autism spectrum conditions. This work will be conducted as part of a new ARC Center of Excellence in Cognition and its Disorders and will be conducted in the FaceLab.
We are seeking highly motivated candidates with expertise in one or more of the following domains face perception or other aspects of person perception, autism spectrum conditions, cognitive development or individual differences. Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent. The successful applicant will be required to work effectively in a research team and liaise successfully with parents, teachers and local educational authorities. The level of appointment will be dependent on qualifications and experience. Some assistance with relocation expenses (if applicable) may be negotiated.
