Position Description:
Situated less than 35 km from Amsterdam, in Almere, AAP is a European rescue centre and sanctuary for primates and other exotic mammals. At the Chimpanzee complex your job will primarily comprise of activities like food, enrichment preparation and other animal kitchen activities.
Dependent on your qualification, experience with primate/chimpanzees and vaccination status, further responsibilities in working with animals may apply.
Qualifications/Experience:
- You are available for at least 3 days a week, for minimum period of atleast three months
- You are physically fit and capable of heavy duty
- Committed to a strict hands-off protocol. Capable of working according to strict hygiene and protocols.
-Are able to communicate in english.
Vaccinations/health requirements:
-A negative Tuberculosis result (Mantoux or x-ray) is mandatory.
-Complete Hepatitis A and B Vaccinations (Prefferable).
- Experiance with Bio-safety level two working protocols is an added advantage.
-Able to work in a large team.
-Have no history of mental illness.
Salary/funding:
Not applicable.
Support provided for internship/volunteer positions (travel, meals, lodging):
Shared accommodation is provided.
Transport costs to and from work with in The Netherlands. (Public transport/fuel costs)
Lunch at work, Tea and Coffee during breaks at work
Term of Appointment:
You are available for a minimum period of 3 months en for minimum of 24 hours a week. Working in the weekends is no problem.
