We seek to appoint a Researcher
within the Animal Behaviour and Welfare Team of the Animal and Veterinary
Sciences Research Group. The main responsibilities of the post are to oversee a
project aimed at understanding assessment strategies and use of information
guiding decisions during aggressive encounters in pigs. The project will also
manipulate management practices to improve pigs’ ability to resolve contests
and benefit welfare. This will involve supervising and contributing to on-farm
behavioural data collection and analysing, publishing and presenting data
related to the project.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in an area relating
to animal behaviour or behavioural ecology.
The
salary will be £32,196 - £35,515.
