Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to (i) conduct research on the carnivore behavioral ecology, population dynamics, predator-prey interactions and dynamics of predator-human conflicts in northern Botswana, Kgalagadi and other parts of Botswana where carnivores are found; (ii) contribute to the development of carnivore conservation strategy for Botswana. (iii) Contribute to the research environment of the Institute by preparing project proposals for funding; (iv) establishes Carnivore Research Group at the Institute and foster national and international collaborative links
Requirements: (i) A PhD in Wildlife Ecology and Management or Large Mammal Ecology with carnivore specialty; (ii) Strong quantitative/qualitative analytical capacity; (iii) The desire to engage in collaborative research, and the ability to work within a multi disciplinary and cross-cultural team. ii) university teaching experience or equivalent will be an added advantage; (iii) evidence of engagement in research and academic leadership will be an added advantage
