Duties:
The position involves research and teaching in the area of farm animal welfare within the Animal
Husbandry Working Group.
-‐ Independent, fundamental research with regard to farm animal welfare assessment
-‐ Participating in and developing teaching in related fields
-‐ (Co)supervision of Bachelor, Master and PhD projects
-‐ Applying for external research funding and managing of research projects
-‐ Undertaking of administrative duties and assignments within the department and university
Essential Criteria:
-‐ A doctorate in a relevant discipline area
-‐ University degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, Biology, or any related discipline
-‐ Experience in publishing research results in peer-reviewed scientific journals
-‐ Strong written and oral English skills
Desired Criteria:
-‐ Demonstrated experience in acquiring research funds and managing research projects in the
field of animal welfare science
-‐ Research visits/working experience at international research institutions
-‐ Established network at national and international in the livestock industry and animal welfare
area
-‐ Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary research team and to carry out independent
research
