Positions (Fellowships) to start a new Research Group at Newcastle University

Newcastle University is advertising Newcastle University Academic Track Fellowships (NUAcTs) in a range of areas. These Fellowships are essentially starting (tenure-track) positions for new Academics with a strong CV and several years of post-doctoral research experience. They allow the successful applicants to focus on developing their own research agenda for the first 5 years, after which they are likely (if conditions are met) to be offered a permanent contract as an academic. More details can be found at the link at the end of the e-mail.

Currently, a new call is open, with a deadline of 17 August. As the Centre for Behaviour and Evolution at Newcastle University, we are very keen to support applications from people with relevant interests. In the current round, the areas relevant to (human and animal) behaviour are:

  • the sociology of health
  • reducing inequalities in health education and wellbeing across the life course
  • ageing, inequalities and consumption behaviour
  • neuroscience, neurodegenerative diseases and mental health modelling
  • development of biological, social or computational models in ageing, early life or cancer
  • novel animal models for investigating brain function and neurological disorders
  • stress physiology (including in animal welfare context)
  • consumer / user behaviour change
  • educational campaigns and interventions (especially about climate change and environment)
