PhD candidate for the Animal Welfare Program

This position is limited until September 30, 2026, as part of the research project "Appropriate Animal Nutrition and Lamb Rearing in Organic Dairy Goat Farming," funded by the Federal Office for Agriculture and Nutrition (BLE).
Responsibilities:
• Planning and practical execution of experiments related to energetics and animal nutrition in dairy goats at the Department of Animal Sciences, University of Göttingen
• Application of methods to measure energy expenditure in goats (isotope method)
• Planning and data collection regarding feeding area design and practices on farms throughout Germany
• Data preparation and statistical analysis
• Publication of achieved results in peer-reviewed English-language scientific journals
• Contributing to report writing
• Active participation in project meetings and seminars
Requirements:
• Completed academic degree in veterinary medicine, agricultural sciences (with a focus on animal sciences), or biology
• Valid German driver's license (Class B)
• Excellent proficiency in German and English, both spoken and written
