Project Title: Using Bio-logging to Improve Sheep Health and Performance
This
cross-disciplinary project will provide the student will comprehensive
training in animal behaviour science and the use of bio-logging devices
(GPS, Accelerometers and Proximity Sensors)
to monitor animal behaviour, health and welfare. By working directly
with the industry partner (Activinsights Ltd) and a group of progressive
sheep farmers, the project will address some of the biggest challenges
facing the UK sheep industry.
Candidate
requirements: Applicants should have obtained, or be about to obtain, a
First or Upper Second Class UK Honours degree. Applicants with
experience of working with large datasets and or
mathematical/statistical
modelling would be particularly welcomed.
