Volunteer Position -Field Research on Guinea baboons in Senegal

Starting date end of August 2019
 The Cognitive Ethology Lab of the German Primate Center runs the research station“CRP Simenti” in the Niokolo KobaNational Park in Senegal where we study the social behavioro f Guineababoons.We are looking for a volunteer to help with sample collection and processingforaboutfour months, starting at the end of August2019until the beginning of January2020. We cover travel costs, medical insurance, necessary medical examinations and vaccinations as well as malaria prophylaxis (reimbursement after completion of stay). Lodging and food is free, and we pay 100 € a month of pocket money.  
Required Skills 
 Happy to live and work under harshconditions
 Be able to walk long distances in theheat 
Field experience / experience with observinganimals
 Good intercultural communicationskillsTeamspirit
 Basic knowledge ofFrench 
Clean Driver’slicense Tasks 
Collect fecal samples for genetic and hormonalanalysis
 Preprocess samples in our fieldlabContribute to the running of theproject
