We are seeking high-caliber students to fill three positions with the United States Department of Agriculture’s Livestock Behavior Research Unit, based on the Purdue University Campus, West Lafayette IN.
The research unit is comprised of five scientists: Drs. Lay, Eicher, Cheng, Marchant-Forde, and Rostagno. The five scientists in the research unit cover five different disciplines: stress physiology, immunology, neuroscience, ethology, and bacteriology. It will be expected that each of the research projects will use a multidisciplinary approach in addressing animal welfare.
In addition the research unit is located on the Purdue University campus, within the Department of Animal Sciences. The Animal Sciences Department also has a large faculty with extensive expertise in the related research areas.
The positions will start in August, 2011.
