Position Description:
The DFG Research Training Group RTG 2070 'Understanding Social Relationships' (Speaker: Prof. Julia Fischer) at the Georg‐August-­University Goettingen and the German Primate Center Goettingen is looking for a highly motivated
Postdoctoral Researcher (f/m/d). The RTG brings together behavioral and cognitive biologists, psychologists and linguists with a joint interest in the interdisciplinary investigation of human and nonhuman primate social relationships. PhD students and a associated postdoctoral researchers investigate social signaling, social monitoring, and social coordination in humans and nonhuman primates. The position holder is expected to contribute to this research by developing and refining analytical approaches in the analysis of social relationship data, including long‐term data from free‐ranging nonhuman primates, as well as short term interaction data from humans and nonhuman primates. The candidate will be affiliated with the Cognitive Ethology Laboratory at the German Primate Center, Goettingen.

Qualifications/Experience:
- A PhD in a relevant academic field (biology, psychology, linguistics, data science, statistics, bioinformatics, or related subjects)
- A strong academic track record
- Proficiency in R, programming skills
- Experience in the quantitative analyses of behavioral data with expertise in (at least some of) these techniques: Elo-­rating, dynamic social network analyses, stochastic actor-­oriented models (SOAMs), and Bayesian modeling
- Good writing and communication skills (English)
- Teaching and supervision skills of Master and PhD fellows is an advantage

According to E13 salary scale
Term of Appointment:
4.5 years (2 + 2.5 years) max.
