Position Description:
Gain valuable experience in the field of conservation and management of a sensitive species, by assisting with the set up of the conservation breeding program of the Philippine Tarsier. 

The project involves: the investigation of habitat and food resources, behavior studies, report filing, enclosure set up and maintenance of the Tarsier syrichta.

Gain valuable experience in areas of:
Enclosure development and sustainability 
Habitat monitoring. (all weathers/day and night)
Behavior studies
Food research and development of natural food sources.
Education program development.
Sustainable eco friendly livelihood development for the local people.

Qualifications/Experience:
Suited to persons studying within the field of Primatology, Ethology or closely related Zoology fields and who are looking for field experience to further their career. 

Irregular working hours are required, including night monitoring in remote forested areas. 
You will be working directly with English speaking staff members and indirectly with some Filipino speaking staff. 

Must be self-motivated environmentalist, independent, have creative skill and enjoy the challenge of working with a group of young people within a different culture, be able to maintain a positive attitude in an isolated location will be key factors for success.

Please note project site (native housing) is located in a remote location with limited cell phone, internet and power access, so must feel comfortable living under very basic condition in a tropical climate.

Salary/funding:
Please note that this is a voluntary position and there are some costs involved (see below), therefore it's more suitable for those who wish to volunteer for philanthropic reasons who are emerging professional that would like practical work experience.

Support provided for internship/volunteer positions (travel, meals, lodging):
We will give a basic allowance of 4,000 pesos per month to cover food. (Flights, visa etc and insurance expense will not be covered)

Term of Appointment:
min 6 mths, long term stay is preferred
