As a Federal Research Institute and independent higher Federal Authority under the Federal Ministry for Food and Agriculture, the work of the Friedrich-Loeffler-Institut (FLI) focusses on the health, nutrition, housing, genetic diversity, and welfare of farm animals.
At the Institute of Animal Welfare and Animal Husbandry in Celle is a position in Animal Welfare Science („wissenschaftliche Rätin / wissenschaftlicher Rat“) available. The employment will be based on the Federal Civil Service Act and its related regulations. The salary will refer to salary bracket A 13 BBesO.
The applicant will be responsible for
planning and leading research projects on the behaviour and housing of farm animals
applying for third-party funding
publication of results in international scientific journals
joining international and national expert panels
preparation of scientific reports and statements
The successful candidate is expected to have
a PhD in Agricultural Science, Biology, or Veterinary Medicine
experience and knowledge of experimental research in farm animal welfare (preferentially with poultry or pigs)
proven experience in international collaboration
experience in grant raising
a significant number of international publications
the competence to speak and write in German and English
the qualification to conduct animal experiments
pleasure in interdisciplinary team work
