We invite applications for a full time Lecturer in Animal Welfare in the Animal Welfare Science and Ethics team based at the Hawskhead Campus of the Royal Veterinary College.
You will work in a vibrant, enthusiastic and inclusive group, playing an essential role in delivery of outstanding and engaging teaching, research and outreach activities. You will demonstrate excellence and innovation in teaching and student experience and a collegiate approach to working. You will be responsible for organisation and delivery of learning and assessment materials for courses on the RVC’s BSc Biological Science (Animal Behaviour Welfare and Ethics) pathway and contribute to teaching for other RVC undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at both our Hawkshead and Camden campuses. You will actively participate in assessment and academic administration of these courses, supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students and perform tutoring duties. You will be expected to actively engage in high quality impactful animal welfare research and outreach complementary to RVC’s current research programmes and to contribute to the College’s ethical review processes.
We seek dedicated and passionate candidates with a PhD and a period of postdoctoral training in animal welfare science, experience of teaching and a passion for research related to animal welfare. You will hold excellent organisational and communication skills, thrive in a collaborative environment, work supportively across teams and provide excellent role modelling for future scientists and peers.
