Tenure track positions in Behavioural Ecology, Department of Animal Sciences, Wageningen University & Research, The Netherlands

The chair group in Behavioural Ecology at Wageningen University offers two positions as Assistant Professor. The candidates’ research should be in the field of animal behaviour, behavioural ecology, animal welfare or conservation. The current focus of the chair group is on animal communication and social behaviour but research of the candidates can cover also a broader field. The selected candidates will teach at undergraduate and graduate level in animal behaviour and related fields, supervise PhD and Masters students, and are expected to obtain external research funding and publish in international (refereed) journals. We offer a stimulating and friendly working environment where the candidates contribute to increasing our understanding of fundamental and/or applied animal behaviour. Training and coaching is provided to support of the candidate’s professional development.

We offer
We offer you a temporary contract for 38 hours per week, which can lead to a permanent employment contract. The monthly salary depends on your work experience and expertise. Gross salary from € 3475 to max. € 5405 as Assistant Professor and based on full time employment. The career path consists of a number of successive career steps, from Assistant Professor, to Associate Professor to Personal Professor. Excellent performance and seniority can be rewarded with an appointment as Associate Professor.

The Behavioural Ecology chair group combines expertise in applied and fundamental animal behaviour, focusing on behavioural ecology and animal welfare. It is part of the Animal Science Department at Wageningen University & Research.
