We seek to appoint a post‐doctoral scientist with a PhD in Animal Behaviour or a related field to join a team of international scientists working on the project SOUNDWEL, which is funded by the EU within the ERA‐Net ANIHWA, and aims at developing a tool to classify porcine vocalisations according to their context and emotional content. The appointee shall have knowledge in bioacoustics, preferably in pigs or other terrestrial mammals. Experience with bioacoustical analysis software such as Praat or Avisoft would be beneficial. The candidate should further have profound knowledge of statistical data analysis and English scientific writing and oral communication skills. Programming experience (preferably LabView) would be a pro, but is not mandatory. Applicants are expected to independently prepare existing sound recordings for further analysis, perform bioacoustic analyses and subsequent classification of calls, and in general contribute to the project and the publication of its outcomes.
