Postdoctoral position

POSTDOCTORAL POSITION available in the laboratory of Sarah W. Bottjer, Section of Neurobiology, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA 90089-2520, USA. The major goal of our lab is to understand how experience sculpts neural circuits that control learned complex behaviors during development. We employ an integrative approach to study functional, morphological, and electrophysiological changes in cortico-basal ganglia pathways that control vocal learning and behavior during development in zebra finches. Ongoing projects in the lab include in vivo extracellular studies of single neurons as juvenile birds hear and produce different vocal sounds. Interested applicants should send a CV and the names of references to bottjer@usc.edu. The successful candidate will participate in our training program in Hearing & Communication Neuroscience. Visit web sites at http://bottjerlab.usc.edu/ and http://hcn.usc.edu/.
