Position Description:
The Tropical Conservation Institute at Florida International University is seeking one or more candidates to serve as Postdoctoral Fellows working in fields related to tropical wildlife conservation. Candidates who have developed conservation research and/or applied-conservation projects with a results-oriented focus are encouraged to apply. Areas of interest include species- and ecosystem-level conservation, wildlife disease/health, conservation medicine and interventions to thwart illegal wildlife trade; however, we welcome applicants working in other areas of applied wildlife conservation. Successful candidates are expected to develop high-impact conservation projects that will tangibly contribute to the preservation of endangered species and high-priority biodiversity areas.

Appointments will have a term of one year and are renewable contingent upon excellent performance. Applicants from underrepresented minority groups are encouraged to apply. Candidates will be selected based upon demonstrated research and conservation excellence and potential future impact in wildlife conservation.
Qualifications/Experience:
Applicants should have a PhD (completed by Jan 2020) in Conservation Biology, Wildlife Conservation, Environmental Sciences, Wildlife Ecology, or a related discipline or a DVM with a focus in tropical wildlife medicine, or related field, obtained within the past five years. Strong writing, speaking, presentation and teamwork skills are important.
