Duke University Evolutionary Anthropology Teaching and Research Position (non-tenure track; 3-year term)

The Department of Evolutionary Anthropology at Duke University invites applications for two three-year (non-renewable) Assistant Research Professor Positions (non-tenure track) to begin in July of 2025.  These positions are intended for recent PhDs who want to build their teaching and research programs prior to applying for tenure-track positions. The research professors will teach two courses each semester and will be given opportunities to expand their research programs, including through mentoring by senior faculty members and having affiliations in their labs.  Consideration will be given to applicants in all areas of Evolutionary Anthropology, but the applicant must be qualified to teach our introductory course, as well as intermediate-level courses in either 1) primate/human anatomy (including a cadaver-based human anatomy course), or 2) primate behavior, ecology and conservation with an opportunity for courses focused on primate genetics.  Only candidates who have completed their Ph.D. at least two full months before the start date of July 1, 2025 can be considered.

To apply, please submit a cover letter (include a brief overview of research interests and potential courses to be taught; limit your letter to 1.5 pages), curriculum vitae, and the contact information for three referees to our job posting at Academic Jobs Online: https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/28635. Applications received by November 15th 2024 will be guaranteed consideration.
